Olivia & Keenan | Engagement Session at Big Basin National State Park & Davenport Shark Fin Cove.

OLIVIA + KEENAN

Photographing Keenan & Olivia was an absolute blast. They’re the type of outgoing, laid back, outdoorsy people that are a complete joy to be around. We started our day surrounded by the redwoods of Big Basin State Park. It was incredible to be surrounded by these giants and it made for some really creative opportunities with the large tree trunks that had fallen and the nooks between the trees.

Olivia & Keenan have the sweetest story.

They met when they were kids, but didn’t really get to know each other until they found themselves on the same competitive rock climbing team. As most precious and strong foundations start out, it all began on a strong friendship which slowly flourished into something more. They kept on developing their friendship until it became apparent there was something a little more romantic building up in the background. Fast forward a few years later, they begin to date. Before they knew it, suddenly marriage just made sense for them.

Something that I love about photography is that it captures and freezes the genuine and emotional nuances found in the touching of hands, and the smiles and faces that are invoked by the chemistry that is involved between two people who are in love with each other. You can definitely see that in Olivia & Keenan and it’s so awesome to see that in photos as well.

After we finished our session at the park, we quickly dashed over to the coast to change outfits to catch the sunset over ocean. It was a complete dream and way epic!

We found ourselves at Davenport Beach and happened upon Shark Fin Cove. This place was special to me because it was exactly where my wife and I went after we got married. It was so nostalgic and it definitely brought back all of the feels. Just look at how gorgeous this place is! The colors were amazing as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
