Beautifulcouple

DANG.

This season has been unpredictable, to say the least. Even though it’s easy to focus on the negatives of 2020, there’s actually been a lot of overlooked positives and genuinely beautiful moments tucked in between the doubts and fears we’ve all been experiencing. I find myself in a unique role where I get the honor of documenting those moments found in the overwhelming amount of weddings and couples that have had to adapt, overcome and persevere through this time of so much uncertainty. It fills me up with fire when I can see the determination of mankind to drive on despite the undisputable changes taking place over the globe.

Tonight was one of those beautiful, “ah-ha”, send those chills down my spine (in a good way) kind of moments. I drove up to what seemed like a normal neighborhood in the Central Valley to discover a beautiful open field with organic pillars. It was like we were transported to another place entirely. It wasn’t even so much the location that made tonight so special as it was understanding that Carissa and Daniel are like so many other couples adapting and growing through the challenges of the world and life itself. The unrelenting force of change and trials and the ability to grow and flourish together as a married couple is something that cannot be replicated by any other medium. During a session, there are moments when I can get a true glimpse and sense of each couple’s lives. You see in their faces, subtle touches, and gestures to each other that hint at the trials they’ve already faced, the ones they’re currently facing down now, and the doubts they currently hold. Yet, when they are together, everything falls into place. That is what I strive to capture. The unity of two and the strength found within that. It reminds me of my “why” and why I love doing what I do.

Despite this very deep and introspective blog post, we had a TON of fun. Anyway, enjoy the photos!

Cheers!
